Molecular Technical Specialist

The primary responsibility of the Molecular Technical Specialist will be to support US customers on-site with commercialization of the Idylla system.

The Molecular Technical Specialist will travel to the customer site and be responsible for training, reinforcement or additional cross-training of designated laboratory personnel to ensure competency on the Idylla assays and software including Idylla Explore.

Additional responsibilities include: troubleshooting, complaint handling and assisting the Sales and Service teams with mini-evaluations and installations when needed.

The Molecular Technical Specialist will also collect information and provide feedback on current or potential Biocartis products such as assays, software or potential hardware improvements.

Accountabilities

  • Perform training, reinforcement or cross-training of customers to ensure competency on the Idylla system, software and assays;
  • Assist in customer acceptance of systems delivered;
  • Analyse and recommend optimal integration of Biocartis solutions into the laboratories’/hospitals’ workflows;
  • Identify potential obstacles for rapid commercialization and uptake of cartridges at customer sites;
  • Ensure that end-users are supported as needed through email, phone or on-site visits;
  • Handles customer inquiries and complaints either directly or through the appropriate channels at NV;
  • Provides support at workshops, trade shows and demonstrations;
  • Assists service in instrument installations, upgrades and maintenance incl. transport, lift and install the instrument modules;
  • Collects feedback on existing or potential Biocartis products from customers.

Profile requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in a scientific orientation or equivalent through experience/training;
  • Minimum 3 years working with medical diagnostic technology in a clinical laboratory or commercial environment. Customer facing experience is an essential requirement;
  • Molecular oncology or infectious disease diagnostics experience in a clinical laboratory or commercial environment;
  • Familiarity with molecular diagnostic instrumentation, software and assays are ideal;
  • Ability to understand laboratory documentation with respect to Quality Control;
  • Broad understanding of workflow in a clinical laboratory environment;
  • Good presentation skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills;

    • Knowledge of US RUO and IVD regulations
    • Familiarity with US CAP checklists; 
  • PC skills:
    • Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
    • Applied knowledge of SalesForce (or similar CRM);
  • Languages: English.
